Dieffenbachia Etna has gorgeous dark green leaves, which are patterned with white flecking. Dieffenbachia plants are mostly used for their colourful and patterned foliage.
Dieffenbachia’s are amongst the best plants for indoor use. It is a wonderful tropical plant which is very tolerant of shade and dark places, making it an excellent house plant. Dieffenbachia grows equally well as an ornamental plant outside on the veranda in a pot, or in a tropical garden in a sheltered, warm and shady position.
Dieffenbachia plants can be grown outside in the garden in tropical gardens, in temperatures above 5 degrees. They cannot be grown in full sun, and filtered light is best. Keep your soil moderately moist (without being water logged) and fertilise the plant regularly.
If you are growing it indoors, take it outside at least once every fortnight and hose it off. Also, at the same time, give it some liquid fertiliser to kick it on. Dieffenbachia’s love high humidity, so mist it regularly, especially if it is indoors. Keep your plant in a sheltered area, away from draughts.
It is an easy plant to care for, both as houseplant and in the tropical garden, and will reward you with beautiful foliage!
